Design Research & Designerly Ways of Knowing

As researchers with a design background, we frequently employ design methods, such as participatory design and design probes, in our research. Therefore, we are interested in exploring how our work can contribute to the design research community. Drawing on our empirical, design-based research and practical experiences, we reflect on the lessons learned from designing with and for young learners and others. We further extend these methodological reflections to broader HCI and design research, considering how design, as a research method, can effectively support new knowledge generation.
